Heart Gate

Open to heat, and cold, elements sweep in. These four rickety walls can barely stand up on the deserted floor. There have been fires, Oh the blazes burning through the autumn nights...it was something to be seen. But that was in robust times. The grass is gone, electrical outlets and wires stripped and exposed , the roof peeling back. The faint smell of rot and mildew... the heart gate can barely stand it's been so misused. It all has to be torn down and built again as something new, but do you keep some of the original scars of time and habitation to pay tribute to the past? Or just level the place?
